In the Studio
BuiltByNOF

While painting on site is about capturing a moment in time, working in the studio gives me the time to try new techniques and new concepts of design.  I have had fun doing small collages which allow me to play with shape, pattern, color and texture without having the work to be about something.  Recently I have taken two workshops, one from Elizabeth Kincaid, which was about technique.  The peony paintings reflect what I learned from her.  The second workshop, from Donna Zagotta, emphasized design.  The Hiram paintings and horses come from that week.   I find that as I work on my own, I incorporate influences from these workshop experiences.
